Welcome to the Song Leaders' Network Aotearoa. We are an organisation intent on supporting the work of vocal leaders in schools and singing communities within New Zealand.

Lead In at Waikanae next year

In 2019 our Lead In national gathering will take place at El Rancho in Waikanae, near Wellington.

This is our main annual event where song leaders can learn, share and reflect.

For more information go to our Lead In page HERE.

Workshops with Su Hart

UK song leader Su Hart will be back in New Zealand to lead a series of workshops early in 2019.

Many of you will remember Su's visit in 2014 where she shared her extensive knowledge of working with the Baka rainforest people in Cameroon.

Su will begin her visit to NZ with some time in Auckland at the end of January, then Palmerston North over the weekend 2-3 February. On 9th February she'll present a full day of workshops in central Wellington, organised by SLNA – a morning devotional singing workshop, some general public singing during the day, and a special presentation for song leaders in the evening. The first two will be open to the public, and song leaders are welcome to come for the whole day or any section of it.

Su will continue down to the South Island, stopping in Nelson and Christchurch before heading over to Australia. More details about all these events to follow, but if you are interested in hosting Su, having her run a workshop at your choir or school, or organising an event for her, please contact us and we'll put you in touch with Su.

Songbook Launch in Auckland

On Saturday September 15th in Pt Chevalier, Auckland, 40 singers, song writers, community musicians, teachers and music therapists participated in the public launch of SLNA’s “Songs from the Land.”  There was a wonderfully supportive atmosphere in the room with people singing together joyfully and unreservedly. We learnt fourteen songs and had two more performed for us – a real feast!

To date we have sold over 100 songbooks... if you would like your own copy, please see the deatils below. There are not many left!
